The Council for Penological Co-operation (PC-CP) is the Council of Europe's expert committee dedicated to shaping standards and principles in the field of the execution of custodial and non-custodial penal sanctions and measures. The PC-CP is currently preparing a draft Recommendation on the Ethical and Organisational Aspects of the Use of Artificial Intelligence and related Digital Technologies by Prison and Probation Serviçes. The document is to be endorsed by the European Committee on Crime Problems (CDPC) and eventually formally adopted by the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe. This Recommendation is to provide guidance to administrations considering their use and the private companies developing them.
