The "International Symposium on Methods of Case Analysis and Offender Profiling" was held from 4-8 February 1996. The "Case Analysis Project Group" was established at the Federal Criminal Police Office (Bundeskriminalamt) and began its work in 1993 with the task of developing methods for case analysis and preparation of offender profiles. The book was published in a more detailed German-language version as Vol. 38.1.ISSN 0174-5433.
