In the present context, the group is once again resurgent in the Middle East, particularly in Syria and Iraq. Ongoing conflicts, including the Gaza war and political instability in Syria, have created a conducive environment for the terrorist group to regroup and potentially expand its influence. This article will assess the state of IS, its operational strengths and its continued threat in the Middle East. |
