Cosa lascia chi fugge? : il pensiero di Guido Tedeschi in Italia dopo l’alià / Bianca Gardella Tedeschi

DIREITO COMPARADO, DIREITO PRIVADO / Itália

Guido Tedeschi was forced to leave Italy and University of Siena after the enactment of racial laws in 1938. He decided to emigrate in Israel, where he became the founding father of Israeli private law and Israeli codification. Many studies focused on his role within Israeli legal academia, while little attention has been devoted to his relationship with Italian academia after he was forced to leave. This article classifies in three main typologies the articles that Prof. Guido Gad Tedeschi published in Italy. The first one includes studies on family law, the main research field while he was a young Italian jurist; the second group includes articles that inform the Italian reader of legal developments in Israel; the third one includes Guido Tedeschi’s studies in private comparative law. The last highlights few reasons that may explain why Guido Tedeschi has been forgotten in Italy for a long while.
