Elizabeth Lancaster reflects on issues implicit in the continuing discussion concerning probation officer's approach to domestic violence. She argues that feminist theory is more diverse than is popularly understood and that a radical feminist analysis logically followed into practice poses difficulties for practitioners who, in reality, draw on varied theoretical perspectives.
