CRIMINALIDADE, TRÁFICO DE DROGA, DISCRIMINAÇÃO, DROGA, EDUCAÇÃO, EMPREGO, REABILITAÇÃO, PRISÃO

This is a personal account of the past six years of my life after I was convicted of a serious criminal offence and imprisoned in the United States of America. I describe the reasons for my arrest and my time in detention, where I discovered that I was pregnat. The article is, however, mainly about the impact my criminal record has had on my life and my employment opportunities in particular. Acquiring a serious criminal conviction seriously damaged my opportunities to secure employment suite to my skills and capabilities. I conclude with a discussion of the STRETCH project I set up, which aims to widen participation of offenders and ex-offenders in museums and galleries.
