Abstract
Recent developments in various fields of Forensic Science, have given forensic scientists the possibility to estimate the value of an analytic link, established between two or more samples, in relation to the circumstances under which they were led to be examined. Unfortunately, very little progress has been made on this topic, with regards to ink analyses in Forensic Science. The authors present in this paper a reflection on the question of iden- tity of source in ink comparisons, and seek to establish formal relationships between the different elements, which one needs to pay particular attention to, when conducting ink analyses in Forensic Science.
